Courts on the sand, lively rallies and a beach filled with sporting energy: Les Estivales de Volley brings a different atmosphere to a Saint-Cast-le-Guildo holiday. Whether you want to play or simply stop to watch, the event offers a change from swimming and coastal walks.
When is the Saint-Cast event in 2027?
The organiser announces the Saint-Cast stage from Thursday 29 July to Sunday 1 August 2027. The wider event also visits Sables-d’Or–Fréhel and Erquy. Check the official website for updates before travelling.
Choose the correct resort when planning your day: not every date in the festival takes place in Saint-Cast. The official agenda sets out the programme by location.
Beach volleyball at different levels
Organised by Armor Volley Ball, the event features three-a-side volleyball on sand. Separate competitions bring together holiday players and more experienced teams. That variety is part of the appeal, both for those entering and those watching.
You do not need to know every rule to enjoy a close rally. Watch how players share the court, communicate and build an attack. For children, it can be an engaging introduction to a sport they may want to try themselves.
Watching matches on the Grande Plage
The Saint-Cast stage takes place on the Grande Plage. Check the court layout and designated spectator areas when you arrive. Keep access routes clear and do not cross a playing area to reach another part of the beach.
Stop for a few games or make the event the focus of your day. Check the forthcoming edition’s access arrangements, and distinguish spectator access from team registration: taking part and watching are different activities.
How to enter a tournament
If you want to play, organise your team and consult the organiser’s registration information. Confirm the category for your age and playing level, required documents, entry fee, deadline and attendance times.
Do not carry over last year’s rules automatically. Registration pages may still show 2026 information; wait for the terms that specifically apply to 2027 before entering. If your group has mixed experience, ask which competition is appropriate.
Practical tips for a beach day
Bring water, a hat, sun protection and a windproof layer. It is easy to become absorbed in a match and forget how long you have been in the sun. Make time for breaks and keep the outing flexible with younger children.
Ask about the approach to public areas if you have mobility needs or bring a pushchair. Access along the waterfront is different from moving across sand. Follow the event team’s instructions and take your rubbish away afterwards.
